The Livwoad brand draws its inspiration from the ocean and nature. Located at the edge of the ocean, it is obvious that water is an important source of inspiration.
The waves, the wind, the caustic light of the water, the animals and all these incredible colors that the biodiversity of the sea gives are at the heart of the brand.

It’s a set of two words: Liv and Woald
Liv in Celtic means Color! It’s a nod to my Breton origins. The word is pronounced simply. It also means “LIFE”. The life, the freshness, the carelessness of childhood!
WOALD is the English name for Pastel dyers. This is one of the plants from which this blue gold can be extracted: indigo.
The wave: the brand is located in the Médoc, on the edge of the ocean and is inspired by water.
The swirl recalls the indigo vat when the dyer works it.
The leaves are reminiscent of plants: raw materials for dyeing and screen printing inks.
The natural dye to vibrate with nature.
All the colors are dyed naturally from so-called “colorfast” dye plants. That is to say resistant to UV and washing. Obtaining all these shades of blue comes from indigo dyeing: a long process inspired by forgotten know-how dating back several centuries.
My indigo vats are natural and fermented. Indigo is GOTS certified organic.
The screen-printed drawings are created from inks worked with plants based on biosourced pigments or plants gleaned from the dune forest of the Médoc.
The shades resulting from natural dyeing are particularly beautiful. Far from industrial dyeing, colors from nature vibrate, live and dance with light.

Even though the process remains the same, my vats are unique and alive and like a child they will turn out differently. This is where the eye and the know-how of the craftsman come into play to interpret the message of the tank. This is what makes the beauty of natural dyeing and craftsmanship and this is what ensures an absolutely unique garment.
